22 November 2017
Stuart Bulmer, ILP Professional Services Manager
November the 15th and 16th saw the great and good of the lighting profession gather at the annual lighting exhibition, LuxLive. This is a must-see event for all lighting practitioners and it was clear that not only were the usual suspects in attendance but there were a significant number of stands from Asia and Europe, showing just how the lighting field has become a global entity. In addition to the manufacturers stands there was a full and extensive programme of lectures throughout the two days covering a myriad of lighting topics.
If you missed the event then make a date in your diary for next years on 14th & 15th November 2018.
The ILP was in attendance to show the range of benefits in membership of the Institution, to answer technical enquiries regarding LED lighting, environmental concerns and to roll out the new updated Exterior Lighting Diploma the first course of which will start in February 2018. Needless to say there was a lot of interest in this and in the many one day courses that the Institution runs when required by the membership.
As many are aware we take great pride in the work and enthusiasm of the Young Lighting Professionals (YLP) and this year this arm of the Institution was represented by Elizabeth Harrison, who had recently gained the ELD with an achieved standard of distinction. Elizabeth was on hand to speak to other budding lighting professionals with the experience of someone who had walked the walk.
