ILP TO APPOINT ASSISTANT CEO

6 February 2017

Richard Frost, ILP CEO

The Institution is seeking to appoint an Assistant Chief Executive to join the staff team at Regent House.

Chief Executive Richard Frost said:

“The ILP punches way above its weight for a small institution. However, there are many things we are not able to do as well as we would like and some areas where we should be engaging with other sectors and just do not have enough resources to do so”.

The position is being offered initially on a short term contract as it is stressed that the new arrangement is experimental.

Richard Frost added” We need to experiment and see if there are ways in which we can do things differently and provide a better service to members and to the lighting profession.

We are also vulnerable in terms of staff cover and disaster planning so there are many benefits to strengthening the team by having a new member of staff ”.

It is anticipated that the successful applicant will have experience in a professional association rather than coming from the lighting profession and will have knowledge of the dynamics of a professional body.

Applications close in March and it hoped that the appointee will be in post as soon as possible during the spring.
