Toby Penter (Indo Lighting)  – “Connected Lighting - Is there a risk?”

As Lighting Engineers are pushed to develop and implement the most up to date solutions, connected lighting moves to the forefront. Installations, towns or entire countries may be lit by luminaires connected to Central Management Systems - integrated with other Smart Cities Technologies. Connectivity provides benefits; but are users being exposed to other risks?

Simon Ward (Atkins)  – “Seeing the Light”

Simon’s talk will focus on the value and benefits of lighting in the public realm, beyond the minimum lux level quotients, around safety and security, to adding the drama, magic and intrigue we all desire from our public places. Simon will cite examples from his own experience and other projects to illustrate age themes, to show the vital contribution lighting can play in our everyday  environments.
