Smart cities could be the most profound transformation in our environment for a generation, with lighting at their heart. Come along to a FREE day of CPD seminars and exhibitions to learn more.

Lightscene: Smart Cities and IOT is a free to attend event for all lighting professionals and everyone else working in this field. We'll be running CPD seminars on Smart Cities and the Internet of Things, along with a Professional Development Zone to help you with membership upgrades, training information, and everything else you need to know to make sure you are all set to make the most of 'the connected opportunity' that Smart Cities and IOT brings.

CLOSEST METRO- ST PETERS - 8 MINUTES WALK

FREE CPD SESSIONS

Defining the Smart City
John Fox, Managing Director Lucy Zodion

John will explore the meaning and context of ‘Smart cities’, extending the discussion to introduce enabling technologies and possible applications.  With urbanisation and tightening budgets these technologies will be used to extend services and increase efficiencies.  The presentation will go on to draw these threads together and explain the pivotal position of the lamppost in future cities.

Smart City Possibilities
Mark Cooper, independent lighting professional

Mark will look at the possibilities that smart cities will offer us in the future, not just with regard to street lighting, but connected services, information usage and how this technology is being employed now and will progress in the future. He will look at the connected office and home and how this could impact on the way Local Authorities, large end users and employers might need to radically rethink their working practices in the future

Revolutionising Asset Control Systems
Stuart Wilson, Director, Urban Control

In this paper, Stuart will look at the current methods of asset control available on a city level and discuss the options being opened up by the smart city revolution. The practicality of how smart city technology will actually work is the main barrier to entry for many new systems. Can a living network of equipment make this transition easier and simpler to those at the coal face who are having to implement these changes and manage them day to day?

AND WHAT'S MORE...

You don't need to be an ILP member to come along; there is a warm welcome for everyone at this event hosted by the ILP North Eastern Region.

The Lightscene event runs all day, PLUS the ILP North Eastern Regional AGM will take place onsite early evening followed by a social gathering. All welcome!
